Session: Australian Music in the Primary Classroom

Session Synopsis

The Australian Music Centre (AMC) is the national service organisation dedicated to the promotion and support of art music in Australia. Consider the question: how are you embedding Australian culture and, importantly, Australian art music into your music programs?  

This workshop will offer a deep dive into the Ngarra-Burria Gurung and Musical Stories educational kits, specially designed for the primary classroom. You’ll have the opportunity to learn and interact with the activities included in these resources. Plus, a discussion on how you can include more Australian art music into your teaching practice.
